Our Fall 2019 End of the Year Review

September through December always seem to bring crazy busy times here at Parkway Florist. We’ve been producing flowers for so many weddings that we often don’t take the time necessary to show you the finished work. Here are a two trends we noticed in 2019…

Cascades are back!

2018 – An Enchanting Rose Garden Wedding at Phipps Conservatory

Walking in the Rose Garden at Phipps is just like going into Burnett’s The Secret Garden.  We were first greeted by fragrant, delicate pink and white Astilbe, Hostas, and other lush greens.  White garden chairs were set up in the center of the Rose Garden for the ceremony.

A wreath of flowers circled around a candle-lit Hurricane globe, greeting guests as they retrieved their place cards for dinner.

Our bride, Courtney,  and her bridesmaids carried lush bouquets of ivory roses and peonies.

The romantic centerpieces carried forth the same lush tones with roses, hydrangea, gypsy dianthus, peonies and flowing greens.

The cake was simply decorated, light pink spray roses adding a breath of color, and white peonies softening the traditional white form.

We were enchanted to be a part of our bride’s special day!  In spite of the Kenny Chesney concert, the Journey/ Def Leppard concert and  high humidity with threatening rain, a grand time was had by all who were part of Courtney and Steve’s beautiful day.

A soft, romantic 2016 so far!

We are almost half way through 2016, and boy……has time and special event work been flying!  We thought we would pause here, at the almost half way point, and see if we could spot any trends.  And we did!

The trend we are seeing so far is BLUSH  as a color — with soft, romantic, and very light colored flowers.  Pictured below are a few of our favorite bouquets so far:

Each one of these brides had chosen a very romantic dress — her dream dress — and flowers were designed to complement the dress, her personality, and her wishes.  some bouquets also included a special strand of pearls — or a locket — or a rosary that was a family heirloom.  All  of the brides, as well as their flowers, were special to us in many, many ways.  And we thank each and every one for choosing us to be part of their very special day!!

So what will be the next color trend?  Hmm…………..
