The Grand Concourse – Old World Splendor & Elegance

One of our recent wedding receptions took place at the Grand Concourse restaurant at Station Square on Pittsburgh’s South Side. This elegant former train station was built in 1901 & in 1974 was listed on the National Register of Historic places.

To learn more about it’s amazing history, please visit the Grand Concourses site HERE.

In the years since the train station was refurbished into a fine dining establishment, it has hosted famous actors, Heads of State & has even been used to film scenes for several major motion pictures. Plus, of course, it makes a splendid & unique setting for a wedding reception!!

Fresh flowers adorn the pearl & silver design of the reception’s wedding cake, which was created by Cakes by Tammy.

Two different centerpiece designs were used for the occasion. The smaller 2 & 4 person tables had smaller clutch style vases, while the larger booths and tables held lush and full centerpieces comprised of white hydrangea & light pink roses, in mercury glass pedestal bowls, with silver dollar and seeded eucalyptus accents.

Our Bride carried a bouquet distinguished with light bursts of color, including roses and hydrangea, while the Bridesmaids carried a simple & clean bouquet of all white hydrangea & roses.

Steven Vance Strolling Violins supplied pre-function music as well as dancing music for the entire evening.

The Grand Concourse Restaurant – an historic Pittsburgh Landmark & an excellent setting to celebrate any couples’ Big Day!
