6-1-2019 – A Summer Garden Wedding

What a beautiful day for a wedding!

Sara & Anthony must have prayed really really hard for a beautiful day, because June 1st turned out to have the best weather so far this year in Pittsburgh!  Beautiful plexiglas signs welcomed and directed guests to the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott courtyard for a short, non-denominational service, conducted by Ronald Cambest.

Sara chose all white flowers for her bridal bouquet, accented with Picassa mini callas.  Her bridesmaids, dressed in dark plum, and carried white rose and waxflower bouquets.

Our pipe and drape, adorned with beautiful purple and lavender flowers,  provided an elegant backdrop for the ceremony and for pictures after the service.  Following the service & pictures, we moved the pieces from the pipe & drape  into the ballroom to adorn the head table.

Inside the ballroom, the cake was trimmed with lavender roses and spray roses.

The centerpieces were low on the tables and combined as many purple flowers in a variety of shades as we could find!

Congratulations to Sara & Tony!  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day.

Welcoming Fall | 3 Purple Weddings

It’s almost fall! With this Friday, September 22 marking the autumn equinox, we are patiently awaiting fall’s official arrival. We can always tell that fall is nearly here when the rich jewel tones of purple are a part of three weddings that we produce in one weekend! This past weekend was a display of rich color that makes everyone at Parkway Florist look forward to all of what fall has to offer.

Our first bride chose Picasso Mini Callas for her wedding flowers. An outdoor ceremony at the Doubletree Pittsburgh Airport Hotel in Moon Township was the perfect setting for a gorgeous mid-September wedding day. White lanterns adorned their guest tables to provide a romantic ambiance.

Our second Purple wedding  took place as St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Moon Twp, with a wonderful reception at the Montour Heights Country Club. Ben and Rachel chose varying shades of eggplant as the wedding colors. Lush, full centerpieces were a perfect compliment to their reception decor. Ben and Rachel were able to share a few quiet moments as their sweetheart table which was also decorated with a beautiful centerpiece.

Our last purple wedding of the day took place at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Airport Hotel in Moon Twp.  Nicole and Kyle also chose plum/purple as their wedding color. However, they chose to accent with orange, hot pink, and lavender (bright & bold!) The Picasso mini callas were carried by our bride, while the bridesmaids carried all the bright & bold colors.   Our lighted  brass arch did double duty, serving as a ceremony backdrop and then repurposed to frame the bride & groom behind the head table.  Centerpieces also pulled in bright & bold elements.

Congratulations to all our brides and grooms who chose to hold their  wedding in the  Fall season in a variety of similar but different ways.

Romance in the Garden

Petals line the isle, the guests have all arrived, the smell of fresh flowers fills the air, all is set for a romantic garden wedding ceremony.

This was just the scene on Saturday August 12th as we watched the bride and groom enter married life surrounded by loved ones. We were happy to help provide the perfect atmosphere for Danielle & Chad to say “I Do.”

Pipe and Drape with FLower Clusters

Our pipe and drape created the perfect backdrop for this sweet ceremony. Threatened by rain, their love prevailed and the ceremony was able to take place outdoors at one of our favorite venues.

Danielle carried a cascading bouquet of stargazer lilies, dendrobium orchids, purple lisianthus, and white roses.

The isle was decorated with rose petals and flowers clusters on the ends of the seats. This provided a nice pop of color as the bride walked down the isle.

After the ceremony concluded, family pictures were taken in the garden while the guests moved inside to cocktail hour.

Danielle’s bridesmaids wore deep purple dresses, perfect for their August wedding, and a great contrast to their bouquets of light green hydrangea, lavender roses, and calla lilies.

Happy Days are Here Again

This past weekend was a hot one! We had three weddings, all of different styles. As always, we were happy to work our magic and create some dreamy bouquets that you can see below:

Our first bride carried creamy ivory and lavender roses with pops of purple provided by lisianthus and lavender.

Our next bride  who  got married outside, under the trees, at 4 pm on a 93 degree day, with showers threating,  carried  creamy ivory and pale yellow roses along with dark blue delphinium, thistle, and some queen anne’s lace for a bouquet full of texture!

Her bridesmaids had big beautiful smiling sunflowers to carry down the isle, which were a perfect look for our extremely hot weather.

The place card table arrangement was a perfect mix of both bouquets, and looked great against the green walls at The Montour Heights Country Club.

Last but not least, our third bride was all about the soft dreamy look of pastel roses, ivory garden roses, lisianthus, and dusty miller.

The bridesmaids fell right in line with the dreamy and romantic feel. Their bouquets used the same color palette which looked great against their navy  dresses.

The  nine-year-old junior bridesmaid loved  her cute and whimsy bouquet which matched the bridesmaids wonderfully, and made her feel so grown up!

Three  lovely brides, three  beautiful weddings, and three more “happily ever afters” that make our passion for weddings that much stronger.
