6-8-2019 – Clear Skies and Bright Blooms

The weather shined for us!

On June 8th, 2019, it turned out to be another beautiful day in our Pittsburgh neighborhoods.  Our visit to Epiphany Catholic Church on Washington Place showcased just how many hidden gems our city contains.  This beautiful church was actually built in 1902!

Our bride, Megan, carried a colorful, bright bouquet (#982) of blue hydrangea, ivory roses, cherry brandy roses and spray roses, and feathery astilbe.

Her bridesmaids, dressed in light blue gowns, also carried bright bouquets (#983): white hydrangea and cherry brandy roses and spray roses.

Their reception took place under the stars in the Rose Garden at the National Aviary.  Help from Nicole Brough (Your Big Day Wedding Planner) was greatly appreciated, as there were lots and lots of pieces and parts to get into place for the reception.  The centerpieces were wreaths of blue hydrangea and coral spray roses surrounding gorgeous golden vases holding flickering candles.

We are sure that the guests enjoyed the stroll through the Aviary as well as the wonderful setting for socializing.

Thanks to the newlyweds for allowing us to assist you and congratulations again!!!

2018 – Colorful Weddings are a Summertime Favorite!

Kelly got married in a heat wave, and her flowers matched the heat!  Pictured here are Kelly with her bridal bouquet of mixed summery flowers, as well as two of her bridesmaids whose short, fun, teal dresses were complimented by more bright summery flowers (Bouquet 844).  Kelly loves color!

St. John Capistran Church in Upper St. Clair was the ceremony setting, while a wonderful and very colorful reception was hosted at the Pittsburgh Airport Mariott.  Each reception table contained a beautiful mixed vase of bright summer flowers (Center Piece 557).

Welcoming Fall | 3 Purple Weddings

It’s almost fall! With this Friday, September 22 marking the autumn equinox, we are patiently awaiting fall’s official arrival. We can always tell that fall is nearly here when the rich jewel tones of purple are a part of three weddings that we produce in one weekend! This past weekend was a display of rich color that makes everyone at Parkway Florist look forward to all of what fall has to offer.

Our first bride chose Picasso Mini Callas for her wedding flowers. An outdoor ceremony at the Doubletree Pittsburgh Airport Hotel in Moon Township was the perfect setting for a gorgeous mid-September wedding day. White lanterns adorned their guest tables to provide a romantic ambiance.

Our second Purple wedding  took place as St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Moon Twp, with a wonderful reception at the Montour Heights Country Club. Ben and Rachel chose varying shades of eggplant as the wedding colors. Lush, full centerpieces were a perfect compliment to their reception decor. Ben and Rachel were able to share a few quiet moments as their sweetheart table which was also decorated with a beautiful centerpiece.

Our last purple wedding of the day took place at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Airport Hotel in Moon Twp.  Nicole and Kyle also chose plum/purple as their wedding color. However, they chose to accent with orange, hot pink, and lavender (bright & bold!) The Picasso mini callas were carried by our bride, while the bridesmaids carried all the bright & bold colors.   Our lighted  brass arch did double duty, serving as a ceremony backdrop and then repurposed to frame the bride & groom behind the head table.  Centerpieces also pulled in bright & bold elements.

Congratulations to all our brides and grooms who chose to hold their  wedding in the  Fall season in a variety of similar but different ways.
