11-10-2018 A parade was held…

You might have thought that the parade on Saturday in Washington, PA was being held to honor our wedding couple.  You would be wrong – it honored our veterans – but it marched right on by the wedding site!

November 10th was a star-studded day for Lia & Devin in many ways.

Their black and white wedding colors looked awesome in the stately George Washington Hotel Ballroom.  Black candle screens and lanterns furnished by Parkway Florist were the perfect compliment to the ballroom’s colors!

Lia carried a bouquet (Bouquet #914) of all deep red roses, while her bridesmaids carried bouquets of all white roses (Bouquet #915).

Rose petals adorned the cake table as well as the stylish crystal candelabras furnished by the George Washington Hotel.

Thank you, Lia & Devin, for allowing Parkway Florist to be a part of your special day.  We hope all your dreams came true!

2018 – Colorful Weddings are a Summertime Favorite!

Kelly got married in a heat wave, and her flowers matched the heat!  Pictured here are Kelly with her bridal bouquet of mixed summery flowers, as well as two of her bridesmaids whose short, fun, teal dresses were complimented by more bright summery flowers (Bouquet 844).  Kelly loves color!

St. John Capistran Church in Upper St. Clair was the ceremony setting, while a wonderful and very colorful reception was hosted at the Pittsburgh Airport Mariott.  Each reception table contained a beautiful mixed vase of bright summer flowers (Center Piece 557).

Congratulations to the newlyweds!  Thank you for allowing us to join in the fun on your “best day ever!”

2018 – With colors like sherbet…

Carina and Anthony’s wedding at St Gabriel’s Church in Whitehall, PA was the 2nd wedding in recent years for this family.

Carina carried a traditional cascade of all white flowers.

Her Matron of Honor was her older sister, and our former bride!  She wore lavender and carried a bouquet with lavender roses, white Gerber daisies, and other white flowers.

The bridesmaids wore mint dresses, and carried bouquets of pale yellow Gerber daisies, white roses, and other white flowers.

The ballroom at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott where the reception was held was tastefully decorated with alternating centerpieces.  One held white Dendrobium orchids, while the other had white hydrangea and lavender roses.

The V-E-R-Y tall 5 tier cake was accented with white hydrangea.

Congratulations to Carina and Anthony!  Thank you for allowing us to help you on your big day.

Love in the Heart of Pittsburgh

Surrounded by the hustle and bustle of Pittsburgh’s downtown sits a reminder of times come and gone. Build in the style of English Gothic architecture, Trinity Cathedral is located on 6th Ave in the golden triangle of Pittsburgh’s downtown. The Cathedral’s iconic red doors catch the attention of many that walk by. Past the wrought iron fence, and up the stone steps, the Cathedral’s red doors reveal a beautiful interior.

On August 26th, we had the pleasure of providing wedding flowers for the bride and groom that got married at Trinity Cathedral.

Our bride, Beth, carried a classic bouquet of ivory roses with Queen Ann’s lace.bouquets 728.jpg

Beth’s two maids of honor carried bouquets of light coral roses accented by blue delphinium. This color combination makes for an eye catching look.

Beth’s remaining bridesmaids carried bouquets of matching light coral roses, perfect for their late August wedding day.

A beautiful day, a grand venue, surrounded by those that love them, what more could a bride and groom need to start out their life together? We were so honored to help this couple make their day special, and at such a landmark church in our wonderful city.

White Flowers are Always “In”

This weekend brought us another round of white flowers as our brides endured more HOT August weather. Below you are seeing the bride’s bouquet which included fluffy white hydrangeas, creamy white garden roses, pink sophie roses, and white mini gerbera daisies. It smelled just as good as it looks! Her bridesmaids carried more fluffy white hydrangeas accented with creamy white garden roses as well.

This ceremony took place at Heinz Memorial Chapel on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus. We designed a soft and romantic arrangement that provided a canvas for the unity candle. Also shown below, is the Groom’s boutonniere which was wrapped with gold ribbon for a  polished look.

The reception took place at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Airport Hotel. We used a collection of cylinder vases with floating candles to provide ambiance at the place card table. These were gathered around the bride and groom’s initials with a white hydrangea arrangement in the center.

The use of white in this wedding gave a classic and elegant feel while still complimenting the personal touches that were added. Congrats to the bride and groom!
