A whirlwind of excitement and emotion, June has been quite the show!
Our wedding season at Parkway Florist actually began months ago – quietly, slowly, gently. By the time June comes, we are an excited crew ready to help our many wedding couples with the most important day of their lives. We thought we would catch up and show you some of what we have been up to this month:
June 3rd actually allowed us to feature a bridal bouquet of white tulips and use white tulips in the centerpieces. White tulips were the bride’s only request (nearly out of season), which we searched high and low for, but fulfilled!
June 10th we saw color come into our world. First, peach and white for Melanie.
Then yellow, blue, and white for Stephanie.
June 17th We visited Holy Trinity Church once again with more yellow, white, and blue flowers. Charcoal grey dresses were the perfect backdrop for bright pops of color on a beautiful “almost summer” day.
More grey dresses were worn at our hotel ceremony on June 17th. While the bride carried a mostly white loose cascade, the bridesmaids carried pink peonies, peach roses, and light blue hydrangea with thistle accents. The centerpieces as well as the cake featured all of these flowers.
On June 24th, Kathleen and Gary exchanged vows at St Mary of the Mount church despite some unexpected trauma. Gary, a hockey coach, was badly injured about 10 days before the wedding leaving him on crutches or a scooter. This couple prevailed and the wedding did take place as scheduled. It gave real meaning to the “in sickness or in health” part of their wedding vows. They were both good sports and able to laugh at the circumstances.
Amanda & Eric also exchanged vows on June 24th but at the more intimate St Patrick’s Church in Oakdale. The wide window ledges provided a perfect resting place for flowers that were then used as head table arrangements at their reception. A lush bouquet with a small accent of her grandmother’s wedding dress was carried by Amanda. Her bridesmaids carried clutches of hydrangea, Sahara roses and touches of baby’s breath. The centerpieces featured these same flowers with rose gold accents.
Wow! So many beautiful brides! So many beautiful flowers! Congratulations to all! We enjoyed helping each and every one of you!
